Traditional genus-level classification of extant Dicaeidae following the AviList checklist v2025. (link) The number of subspecies is given in parentheses. The phylogenetic arrangement is based on Nyári et al. (2009) and Saucier et al. (2019). Note that both authors excluded olivacea from Prionochilus. In addition, DeRaad et al. (2025) showed that Dicaeum hypoleucum is represented by only three (instead of five) subspecies. The phylogeny largely matches that of the BOW Phylogeny Explorer tree v1.6 except for the deviating placement of Dicaeum hypoleucum. (link)
